Some of the occupiers in Port Townsend WA are trained to train people in NVC, and are conducting daily teleconferences open to anyone to participate just for the cost of making the phone call. Calls are daily at 4 PM EST (1 PM Pacific) and the number to call is 347 – 304 – 9152. Also known as Compassionate Communication, NVC provides an approach for establishing rapport with others to allow deeper communication and mutual understanding to occur. At the Dec. 3 GA we formed an InterOccupy Committee for the purpose of maintaining a liaison with InterOccupy.org, primarily by participating in their weekly teleconferences. (InterOccupy.org uses the term “Committee of Correspondence” but they suggest each Occupy pick its own committee name.) Our InterOccupy Committee consists of Lorenzo Kristov (primary point of contact), Rick Bernal and Sam Citron. Readers of OccupyDavis.org should visit InterOccupy.org to see the structure of their system of teleconferences, and to review posted notes and recordings of recent calls. We also suggest that you visit the InterOccupy Facebook Page and “Like” it, so you can follow their many useful and informative posts.
